Thinking of going w the Thinkware U3000. Front 4K, Rear 2K. $450 + $200 install. Anyone live there aftermarket dash cam ?

We have viofo a229 Pro front and rear. Front is 4k, rear is 2k. I have the dongar pro adapter, and everything is mounted from the ceiling and uses the factory dash cam plug that is also in the ceiling. Love the setup and it works flawlessly.

I have the same setup - hoping to see an update to the Dongar Pro sometime this year that improves the ability to use the Viofo in parking mode.

I am running a thinkware and blackvue between my two vehicles. I prefer the profile and app interface of thinkware, except clips do not have a thumbnail. I prefer the video and audio quality of the blackvue. I’ve had three top-of-the-line thinkware over the past 13 years, and I’ve always experienced an audible buzz or whine on playback.

Just my opinion from experience.

I also strongly encourage anyone dipping their toes into this to spend some time at blackboxmycar.com

Their youtube channel is always current and they keep up with the market and offering well. I’ve shopped there almost exclusively for a decade now.

Lord almighty, final thought I promise… I’ve never spent less than $600-$1k on a setup. It’s one of those things where your device antiquates very fast, so go top tier and be able to reliably use your setup for 3-5 years with full support. Again, just an experienced opinion. DubDub out

I bought two Garmin units, ordered directly from Garmin... The X310 for the forward facing one, and the mini three for the rear. The Donger adapters were sold out at the time, so I used Garmin’s power cable which powers both cameras. So far, I am happy with my choice. Time will tell.
