Isn't it so annoying that the SDM reconnects at 19mph! It rides great on washboard road with it disconnected, i just wish we can keep it disconnected until 40mph. I have had great experience with DrKdss's KDSS kill switch, everyone send him an email or DM him on instagram to get him to make a constant SDM disconnect switch!

I am fine with it disconnecting above 19MPH. It would be dangerous above those speeds. But I wish it would automatically disconnect below 19MPH when SDM is active.

You’re not the first to mention this but honestly I don’t find the ride any smoother with it disconnected. It is a “stabilizer” bar after all and I would assume Toyota does not want to be liable for accidents involving a stabilizer bar disconnected above 19 mph. I think its original design was meant for more articulation when crossing a wash out at slow speeds type of thing. I’m sure someone will work out a “fix” around the 19 mph deal.
KDSS is a totally different beast than SDM and did improve the handling characteristics on those 4Runners.

I’d be fine with it staying disconnected over 19 (though agree much over might get sketchy), but I’m with you that what I really want it to do is automatically disconnect again when I go below 20.

Definitely would be dangerous above 50, but you would never use it at that point anyways

my old KDSS disconnected 4runner ran washboard roads like butter. I think it's definitely smoother when you are going at high speed
