As title describes, anyone else experience this issue? Only started happening yesterday, and never before. shutting off yesterday and on the way to work this morning still happening.

It was raining yesterday and today, windy and cold, don't know if that has anything to do with it. Maybe something to do with the signal being weak and interference???

Serius XM.
I never activated it, is there a way to turn it off?? Never used Serius XM in my life in any of the cars I owned. Wish there was an option to get the car without it during the build order.

From what source on your iPhone were you trying to play thru CarPlay? Sounds like the issue might be a connection between the phone and the server for your chosen source (Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, etc) if streaming. You might switch sources when this happens to try to isolate the problem. Further, if you have some music downloaded onto your phone in the music library, you should try that to rule out the issue of poor data connection for your phone.

For the most part, CarPlay is just a conduit that allows you to output the phone to the vehicle display & speakers. It can introduce added issues but I’d try to first confirm that the problem is not between the phone & source.

I was playing songs that I downloaded to my music library in Apple Music. And it was fine before until yesterday.

Try using the split screen, in CarPlay, that shows the maps app and whatever music app you are using. It seems that it might be the maps app that is causing the static issues.
