I Also have this noise on cold 2025 land cruiser 1958 with 350 miles, it goes away as engine warm up. Sounds like this video.
Anyone found out if this is normal?

I would say the noise is normal. If the 25s are making the sound I’d say it’s normal operating sounds.

If everybody's is doing it, would be normal. Good to ask.

Normal. And for me, went away when motor was broken in. As a cautionary tale, someone with the same noise brought their to the dealer, and they were more than happy to take it apart.

People reported that the noise disappeared over time. So it can be due to the programing of the engine before xxx miles for break-in. Or new injectors etc are noisy before they physically break-in.

It may be "normal" but not ok. Especially longer term.
Start up cold is when the engine experiences significant wear. Probably not detonation. More likely bearing noise. This is a big deal and please keep posting. If mine does it when it gets here i'll pursue this with Toyota to the end. A pre oiler should fix the problem and would be the easy fix and wat to determine oil starvation at start up.
Thx for posting. A potential deal breaker for me.
The video for audio tells nothing. Could be many things and not necessarily the engine.
The fact it goes away after break in in very encouraging.
There is another posting that has a much better audio recording.
If this is ok the dealerships should be able to explain what it is.

Wonder if this issue could be related to dealers potentially filling tanks with non-premium unleaded day LCs take ownership has anything to do with the knocking sound since these are turbos...?

Mine went away after I changed oil at 750 miles (as well as flushed oil pan to remove any metal break-in shavings). I also fill with only premium after the first tank. Knocking hasn't returned after 4900 miles YTD even during 10 degree cold mornings.

Many years ago, had a similar issue with a Volvo (turbo). Dealer acknowledged they mistakenly filled with non-premium unleaded during service appt which resulted in almost the same knocking sound I had with my LC. They flushed the fuel system and sound went away...
