We have lots of elk and deer where we live and drive. I would like to get a bumper and guard to protect our Land Cruiser. We will not be off-roading this vehicle so no need for winch and would prefer a lighter aluminum bumper and guard. Any recommendations? Any experience on steel vs aluminum? How does a custom bumper affect the Toyota warranty?

I've seen aluminum bumpers on (older) Toyota trucks that look basically like an ARB full guard bumper, but I've never been able to find a supplier here in the US. I have a feeling that there's some government regulation that pushes the makers to use only steel. Perhaps the ones I've seen are custom.

IMO....... Just about anyone can weld steel and making a mistake welding (during fabrication) on a steel bumper is easily fixed with a grinder. Only folks that weld aluminum regularly get clean error free welds and those people get paid a whole lot more than mild steel welders........

The old saying still rings true............... "A grinder will make you, the welder you ain't"

Exactly.

Also, the raw materials and even welding supplies are higher so it really drives the price up.

Deer and Elk? Aluminum crash bar better than nothing but it would need to be considerably thicker than a steel equivalent to have any chance of taking a direct hit. Consider it might interfere with the various sensors as well.

Ask DeMello Off-road if they have any plans? I was always on the verge of getting their aluminum bumper for my FJ.

To OP: is this what you are looking for?

Made in China tho, and ships from China, don't know how you feel about that and I added something to cart and try to see what the shipping would cost, looks like free? Not sure how tariffs will affect it tho.

Damn, that one looks fantastic. I went for the AFE brush bar for the time being while the 250's market develops, but it's very valuable to see Chinese companies get products out, as it really helps keep prices in check. I love ARB's stuff but I find their prices untenable.

Love the carbon fiber hood they have as well. And wheel options. Good find.
