Air Filter Maintenance (Engine & Cabin)

For anyone interested, I just ordered replacements for the engine and cabin air filters through Longo for a slight discount. Local dealer has them back ordered and quoted me $45 a piece. Longo says they’ll be here next week.

Changing them out as I did 200mi of heavy dust driving last weekend (dry wipers to clear the windshield). I pulled the engine air filter as soon as I got home and hit it with the Milwaukee blower and my air compressor, so it should get me through until next week. Definitely dirty though and worth the fairly inexpensive replacements. (2800 mi on the OD)

3500 mi and freshening things up in the cabin and engine - trail dust did a number on both. Engine filter is after an air compressor blow out post trail.

How long did it take you to get the engine filter? My local dealership here said they were on national backorder, that was about two or three weeks ago.

Supposedly the cabin air filter for the 2022-2024 Tundra, Sequoia 2023-2024 p/n 87139-50110 is a direct fit

Does airflow go up or down? I thought air comes from outside through the filter and into the blower motor?

It does, I believe the F, UP & Arrow are referring to Front UP not the direction of the airflow. If it didn't also have the word UP along with the F both facing right side up I would say the arrow goes with the airflow.

I was just in there checking my cabin filter this last weekend.
Airflow goes down but there’s up arrows on the filter I think.
I was going to mark things, but there were arrows on everything so I didn’t feel like I needed to.

I bought the generic cabin filters off amazon and so far they been working just fine. Engine Air Filter… that is still a toyota part.

I have the K&N washable and statically rechargeable cabin filter. It also has a layer of rodent protection since there is wire mesh on the top.

That wire mesh prevented a squirrel from making the inside of my Tundra home as it tried to chew through but couldn't and made it's nest on top off the filter instead.
