Met Papsford and his LC. Cruised in eco at 75mph over and back, surprised to see 22.8 mpg (on factory 245s, no roof rack)

Should mention, that is over two high passes twice each, Vail Pass and Eisenhower Tunnel
Those look like Michelins from a FE. Please let us know how the 1958 does with the larger tires.

Will do, they should be fine. I do notice that even the stock 245s seems to scrub a bit a full lock while turning, which I assume is the 4WD mode.

265/70/18s ride fine and are quiet.
