So do you not have to install the car bars back on that tuck in toward the wheel? As I’m taking mine apart for this same install, I realized that those side car bars could still be utilized. I can’t seem it find any information on the web that they are needed or not.

I do like to have the crash SIDE bars somehow to connect to the steel centric bumper. However, like most centric bumpers design, they eliminate those side bars. I still see few other design with side bar but all in one aftermarket.
Hopefully in the future DV8 designs the add-on side bars that can be attached to the main bumper
