First Edition Roof Rack / RTT - Will it fit?

It’s 165lb dynamic 600lb static
Have you measured the dimensions of the rack? I got the roof rack and I'm looking at RTTs, but want to make sure the size I'm looking at will fit easily. No rush, but if you don't mind measuring length and width I'd greatly appreciate it! (You need a venmo tip jar for all these requests :D)

The spec sheet says 70.1 x 54.1 x 6 - but interested to know actuals as well.

What RTT are you looking at?

Thanks. I'm looking at the Roofnest Condor 2 or the iKamper Skycamp 3 mini. I want a plastic hardshell, but those prices! What are you looking at?

Also looking for a hardshell without breaking the bank.. watched a ton of reviews and I like the TopOak Galaxy as it’s basically a Roofnest at 1/3 of the price. Prices on some of these are crazy!

It's tough to measure because the sides/back slope in as well as the front being a wind deflector. I'd say those measurements are accurate for the base. The measurements I'm getting for the actual top surface are around 43" wide and 58 1/2" long.

looks like 77 3/4". I put a board on top to get a good measurement.

Leaning towards this RTT as at 4”, it would “theoretically” fit through my 83” garage frame. 86lbs is pretty manageable too -

I emailed them to see if they’d offer a multi purchase discount as I know a couple others looking

Does anyone know if the FE Roof Rack has crossbars that can be slid for and aft? I am wondering if my Thule roof box will be able to clamp on to the crossbars on my soon to arrive LC FE? Thanks!!

On the topic of the First Edition Roof rack, does anyone know or know how to find the part number? I'd love to order one to install myself.

Reviving this one now that a few folks have the truck - anyone planning to mount a jack, awning, tent, or boards to the rack? What mounting hardware are you going to use or do you recommend?

Can anyone provide an exact vehicle height measurement with the rack? Wondering if it will fit in my garage with anything mounted to it… thanks!
I too am curious re. mounting hardware for mounting a jack and low profile pelican type boxes. Also is the premium PIO rack same as the FE?

Looking for an assist from someone that’s taken delivery of a FE -

I’m working with a RTT company and they’re trying to get a sense of the FE rack and how the tent will mount.

Per the company

We’re trying to figure out how we would mount the tent brackets onto the tent. The photos and videos we’ve seen don't give a clear visual, so we might need your help to understand how the factory crossbars are set up. Do you know if the crossbars are removable, like with roof racks such as the Sherpa or Prinsu?

With those types of roof racks, you can detach the crossbar from the rails, which makes it easy for customers to mount our tent. They would install the roof rack crossbars onto our tent, then place the entire tent back onto the rack and tighten the bolts that connect the crossbar to the rails.

Anyone able to advise or provide some additional pics? Thanks to @Teebo for his pics so far!

Also, anyone with a pic of the hatch open and the clearance between the hatch and the rear of the FE rack?

Looks like you have an office in Los Angeles. Want me to bring mine over?

The cross bars are fixed (4 fixed bars) and slotted. See attached pictures.

Any insight as to how the tent would mount to the rails? Do they move or come out? I just sent you a DM with the contact information for the rep.

Slotted rails at fixed intervals.
Thank you very much!!

Do you know if the cross rails are removable via the arrowed bolts? For example, could you mount the cross rails on the tent and then bolt them back to the roof rails in the arrowed locations?

Just trying to get a better understanding of the rack system - thanks for all your help! (Living vicariously through your pics until the QC lifts..)

👊🏼

Just pulled the trigger on the IO XL. Will mount it on the truck when it gets here and post pics - if the truck ever clears the QC hold and actually shows up..

The last picture (attachment 2292) is with the trunk fully open so the fin is sticking up. With the hatch closed if is several inches lower than the top of the roof rack. The top of the roof rack is ~78 inches.
The trunk has 5 settings for opening. I clear my garage door with a couple of inches to spare and would just touch the garage door if the trunk is opened to default of position 5. When I program it to position 4, I don' touch the garage door above and can stand under the open rear hatch without hitting my head (I'm 6 feet tall).
